Rider Updates

After a long summer, we started riding indoors in November and decided to race the AMA arenacross in Grand Rapids this past weekend. Boy, did I struggle. The whoop section just swallowed my bike and it took all weekend to get used to the size of the track. I raced Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and it was just a long weekend. I had a lot of fun and plan on racing arenacross in Ft. Wayne in a couple of weeks. Looks like I will be practicing the whoops section before the next race!

Well the outdoor season has finally come to an end and I am feelin the indoor rush! Overall, my first season on my KTM 65 went great! As you already know, I opted out of the 50's a year and a half early to get a head start in the 65 class. I started in the 7-9 class in June of this year and midway through, I broke my arm. After 6 weeks off, I got back into it and even moved onto a tricked out Mod 65 because I felt that I could ride faster. I love this bike! Anyway, I am starting indoors on Nov 14th in Waterman Illinois and feel that I am really prepared. Talk to you soon!

I finally feel good and decided to ride Red Buds open practice. The track was in awsome shape and I was feeling the groove. I rode 3 motos and all three went great. Not once did I go down and was able to put in 5 laps each within the 15 minutes. I rode well with nice and consistent rythm. Both my mom and dad were impressed and we were able to call it a productive day. Not to mention that I had alot of fun!

After riding the last couple of days, both my dad and me decided to try to build some momentum before I race again. Red Bud has the fall series coming up in September, so I will just practice as much as possible and hopefully I will be ready for that race. The time off of the bike proved to be more difficult than I thought.

My cast was removed today and my arm feels good! I am planning on riding today to see how it feels. Hopefully I will be able to race this weekend at Red Bud.

Visited the Ortho today and he says the arm is healing great! I have to go back on the 14th and he thinks that I will be able to race RedBud that weekend.

On Wednesday the 16th, Max overshot a tabletop into a triple and was catapulted over 50ft and broke his arm. This was his first major crash but not all is lost. Max is in great spirits and is anxious to start riding. Max will have a cast on for 6 weeks, hopefully, less, and can finish the remainder of the summer riding season. Max has been working real hard and has progressed tremendously on his 65. His speed and skill have increased and has already shown that he can compete at this level.

After several DNF's in the 50 JR 4-6 class, Dad and I decided it was time to move up, and get prepared for next season. It was hard letting go of my KTM Mini and KTM Pro Jr, but it was time to move forward, even though I had 1/4th a season left in my classes. I will be the youngest kid in the 50 SR 7-8 class for the remaining of this season, great practice for next year!!

6 year-old Max Spicer sweeps the Winter Series at Motoplex in LaOtto In. Spicer had a great season with sweeping all but one race. Spicer also finished 3rd overall in the 4-6 class. Those darn Cobras!
