Hot Summer Nights lived up to its name, as it was 110 in the pits when practice started on Saturday. The gate dropped for moto 1 and 25 bikes ripped down the start straight. I went into the first turn 5th, and by the end of the first lap had moved into 2nd. Early in the second lap I made the pass for the lead and held on for several laps. With one lap to go I lost the lead when I got bumped, and then I tightened up and lost another position in the second to last corner.Moto 2 started the same, and by the end of the first lap I was up to third. Unfortunately the race got red flagged the next lap because of a down rider in the track. I got a better start the second time, and was back into 2nd before the end of the first lap. I knew the leader hadn't finished well in the first moto, and so I was pretty sure I had the overall locked up.Overall it was a very good weekend and I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
