Personal History
Hi! My name is Zack Pfeifer and I live in Billings, MT. I am 15 years old and I am starting my sophomore year at Billings Senior High. I am an honor roll student. I like hanging out with friends and riding my dirt bike. I started riding dirt bikes and racing in 2011 on a Suzuki RM85 and in 2012 I moved to a Suzuki RM85L. The summer of 2013 I moved up to a Kawasaki KX250F.
My 3rd race ever was in 2011 at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, MN during amateur day of the Pro National Week. I had an opportunity to race there again in the summer of 2012. Summer 2013 I stayed in Montana and raced the Big Sky MX Challenge Series, placing 1st in the Open Beginner Class. This summer I again raced in the Big Sky MX Challenge Series, racing in the 250 Novice Class, and the 450 Novice Class (on my 250). I ended up placing 5th overall in the 250 Novice Class and 4th overall in the 450 Novice Class.
I would like to thank all of my sponsors for a great season with a special thanks to the following:
Leatt - August 2013 I had a bad crash where I dislocated my shoulder. My Leatt neck brace truly saved me from worse injury. I now have a new Leatt neck brace, a Leatt chest protector and a Leatt Cool-it vest and am proud to represent Leatt.
Gaerne - My Gaerne boots have been comfortable and have protected my feet and ankles for 2 amazing seasons. I am looking forward to my next pair next spring.
Perelli - My Perelli tires hooked up good, I got my first hole shot last season and got new tires for this season. First race of this season started with a hole shot.
EVS - I had purchased an EVS shoulder brace last season after injuring my shoulder, even before being sponsored and loved the product. This year, after dislocating my other shoulder last year I ordered the double shoulder brace and love it. I also got EVS knee braces and compression shorts this season and love them both.
ASV - My ASV Levers have withstood all of my crashes and have been a great product.
Spy Optics - This year I was sponsored by Spy Optics. I got 3 pairs of googles and a couple pairs of sunglasses and love them all. I am in the process of working out my next order.
Matrix Concepts - Love my Matrix Concepts gas can and bike stand. The 1.7 cleaning products have helped alot.
Twin Air - Purchased 2 air filters for my bike and they are standing up to wear and tear.
Riding Goals
My riding goals include going to Rapid City, SD this winter to try a couple arena cross races. I also plan to race the Big Sky MX Challenge Series again next summer. I am looking at some new riding clinics and will update my goals when I see how that goes.
Competitive Highlights
Summer 2013 I competed in the Big Sky MX Challenge Series which consisted of 8 rounds and placed 1st overall in the Open Beginner Class. My season came with some challenges. In the first round I had a big crash in the second moto that resulted in a 12th place finish. Towards the end of the season at a non-series race I had a very hard crash at the start where I dislocated my shoulder taking me out of the 7th round. Going into the 7th round I had a points lead of 59 points. Two weeks later I rode (conservatively) in the 8th round finishing in 11th place to hold on to my 1st place overall for the series.
This season I stepped up to the 250 Novice and 450 Novice classes finishing 5th overall and 4th overall. I plan to run the same classes next season and hope for a top 3 overall in both classes.
