Personal History

My name is Wyatt Bowdish and I am 17 years old. I currently attend Excelsior Charter School as a junior online so I can train, ride and travel as needed to reach my goals of becoming a pro rider. My current High School GPA is 3.75. I started competing in motocross in January 2019. I ride a 2021 Yamaha yz250f. When I am not doing school work, or training on the track, I enjoy mountain biking, weight training, wake boarding and wake surfing. In 2019-2020 I attended a sports academy school which has taught me the routines and nutritional habits needed to stay healthy, alert, and in top shape.  I have a regular workout routine daily that includes, strengthening my core for more control of the bike, along with agility and speed training which helps with my endurance to ensure I have what it takes to physically finish each race strong.  I have been on wheels of some kind since I was a year old.  I have been desert riding with my family since I was born but was introduced to track riding about 3 years ago. I was hooked from the first lap.

Riding Goals

My short term goals for the 2022 racing season is to win C class at the Loretta Lynn's and Mammoth before moving up to the B class Nationally for the California Classic at Fox Raceway and AZ Open. In 2021 I lost 3 months of ride time, but not my motivation.  During that down time, I studied videos of myself at various tracks and videos of top riders to help analyze where I could improve on my body position, style, and drop my lap times.  Emotionally and physically I came back from my injury stronger and faster.  I had better starts, pulled the hole shot, and my lap times dropped making me consistently competitive with the top 3 riders in my class.  I am winning motos, and pulling the hole shot.  My long term goal is to become a pro rider and everything I do on and off the track is to support and facilitate me to reach that goal.

Competitive Highlights

In Fall 2021 I won the local 450 C overall championship and took 3rd overall in the 250 C championship. At the Marysville qualifier for Mammoth 2021, I was running top 10 but had a crash that took me out of the competition.  I have been using that disappointment and frustration to build upon.
