Well what can I say, been a couple years since I've been on a bike after the broken leg, even before then was slim pickins', and I must say you don't realize how much you love something till its taken so far away from your grasp both physically and financially. In trying countless times to seperate myself from what I thought was just something i needed to get over, the more depressed I found myself. Until a couple nights ago something sparked. I had recently bought a mountain bike thinking, ok its 2 wheels, I loved mountain biking before, so why not try and make this a new sport instead of just for excercise, its cheaper, less maintenance. Well about 3 rides in I was spent, not regreting the buy but just still feeling that missing chunk of my life and who I am. Then walah, I watch a couple youtube moto vids and before I know it I'm up all night (followed by writing this and passing out, with the test of waking up and reading it again to make sure my feelings are set)
So to sum it up and as hard as it is to put in words, all the years I spent thinking I was giving something %110 percent, I actually was doing the opposite by stressing the expectation instead of having fun with something I loved, which is why I think everyone gets into riding in the first place. So now I think I've refound my kid at heart dream which was to be doing what I loved, regardless if you're paid or not, and equally important trying to influence people along the way which i really miss the most. I've had so many great friends that were there for me and have met a lot of really cool people who influence me and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
When a new bike comes my way it's gonna be a fun time, no more living in the past or future, Its all about those simple things life brings us in the present. I know its long but I hope someone reads this and get something from it, take care and go rip!
