Personal History
I'm 36yrsold, 5'-9" tall, 185 lbs, married now for 14 years, no children. I work in the Civil Engineering field as a Engineering Tech. - Design.
I have always liked motocross. I can remember as a young boy always wanting a bike and wanting to jump and pop wheelies. My father bought me my first bike when I was 5 years old. It was a Honda 50, gas and go. The first time on it I ran it right into a tree and cried like a little girl. Slowed me up for a few minutes but I saddled back up. I have had five motocross bikes in my life, the most recent being a 2012 KX450. Growing up I spent most of the time riding around private property ripping up dads lawn. I was always building jumps with dad in our dry unfinished pond. When I was 18 I rode on a track at a friends house. It was great, I felt like a supercross star that I seen at the Silverdome.
Last season I hit the D14 races at the local tracks, Freelin MX, Baja Acres and Polka Dots. Then practices at the same tracks as well as the Sandbox and a private tracks. I probably rode a total of 50 sessions at the tracks. During the 2013 Season I got a hand full of racing in and a bunch of open practices.
In 2012 I experienced everything from good finishes to DNFs. To top things off, I finished the season with a 100% torn rotator cuff. Recovery is going good and I expect to be riding by mid march or at least by April 1st. Defently learned from my mistakes.
In 2013, I had a really bad crash in September that ended the season. Broken RT Clavicle, Fractured Rt Scapula, Fractured Transverse Processes L3 & L4, Chipped L5 vertebrae's.
I ride hard but within my abilities, sometime pushing just a bit to much. For the most part I know when to say when. I am a believer in clean riding, No cheap or dirty passing, etc. I want to be a good role model for the youth, teaching them good sportsmanship.
Riding Goals
The 2013 Season will be a season of improvement.
My 1st goal would be to race as much as possible. I will probably ride the Vet Class and 30+. I am a AMA and District 14 member.
My second goal would be to work on my lap times. Ride consistant for the entire Moto. Build my endurance up so I can last.
My third goal would be to do some of the jumps that I was not doing last year. My abilities have come a long way this past year. So I am once again pumped to ride just like when I was a kid.
My fourth goal would be to ride with the faster riders during open practices and learn as much as possible from them.
Competitive Highlights
Labor Day Weekend 2012 I competed in the Baja Brawl. I felt good about the overall finishing position of 5th. I went 7-4-6, three moto format. I pulled a really good start in the third moto but stalled the bike after lap one and it was tough to restart. I went a lap down, this was very disappointing to say the least. Live and learn though.
I officially did my first motocross race at MPX Racing in Sebwing, MI. I was pumped up but still a little bit nervous. There were 8 riders in my class, 30+ Novice. I took 2nd Place the 1st Moto and 4th the 2nd Moto for a 2nd Place overall.
