Personal History

I was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania where I learned to ride dirt bikes. My friends and I loved riding through the woods, creeks and especially the hill climbs. I never raced when I was a kid, but they always called me "Wild Bill" because I would try to ride through anything.

When I was 20, I joined the Army. I am now nearly 19 years into an active duty military career. I started as a tank mechanic, then joined Special Forces where I currently still serve as a long range weapon instructor. I am looking forward to my retirement in 2020 and plan to focus on riding and racing.

I am married with 3 children and live in Whispering Pines, North Carolina. My youngest is William, Jr. He just turned 3 and got a PW50 for his birthday. He looks to be carrying on the "Wild Bill" moniker.

Riding Goals

I am rebuilding my bike after a strong 2018 season. I plan to focus on GNCC and VXCS in 2019. My goal is to finish top 3 in GNCC and win every VXCS race.

Competitive Highlights

I began competing in hare scrambles in 2015 and quickly was promoted from C class to B class. After having to take most of the 2016 season off due to deployment, I raced several races in several different series in 2017.

In 2018 I began the year racing GNCC where I honed my riding skills by competing with the best of the best. It is a great series and unfortunately due to work and family commitments, I was unable to travel to the farther races. As a result, I switched my focus mid-year to the regional races in Virginia and the Carolinas. I finished no lower than 4th in every race I entered except for one where I had to drop out after 3 laps due to mechanical issues and still managed a 5th place.
