Personal History
Hi, my name is Weston Sternad and I live in Billings, MT. I am 15 years old, and an 9th grade homeschooler. I take pride in all of my classes and grades, and maintain a 3.5 GPA. I have 1 older sister; she and her pilot husband are traveling all over the world. My hobbies are all outdoors. Along with riding my motorcycle I enjoy MTB, working with dirt and heavy equipment, playing hockey, attending youth group, and hanging out with my friends. This year I joined a local NICA XC Mountain Bike team; this was our first year and it was a total blast! Riding MTB keeps me in shape and outside on the trails. I really enjoy riding my dirt bike with my dad all over the state. He has joined me in a few races and does really well! I really enjoy spending time with my family, my dogs, and my best friends in the great outdoors.
Riding Goals
This year I hope to be on the podium at every race. I hope to be competing in MT, ID and WY this season. This will be the inaugural season on my new 250. I hope to start strong on the new bike and am committed to training harder than ever. I have really amped up my practice schedule and have put a lot of time in to my small track at our home. I hope to train with one of my sponsors more this year, Rooster's Nest MX Pro Shop. I am working hard on cornering and maintaining traction, along with my technical abilities. I'm always looking for ways to challenge myself and grow as a rider. I enjoy the challenge of riding with other strong riders, pros, and friends that are better than me because it makes me a stronger rider and I've developed some great friendships and mentors.
Competitive Highlights
I would say the highlight of my career has been the MTXC 6 Hr Marathon last fall in the Pipestone mountains of MT. My partner and I were the youngest racers in the event, both riding 85's, but with a lot of grit we managed to pass some of the best riders across all classes and finished strong with a 2nd place. It was exciting to push hard enough to overtake 20 & 30 yr old seasoned XC riders. These men are like family to me and have taught me so much. I am blessed to have incredible mentors. pleas see my attached resume under my images. Thank you for your consideration!
