My name is Wesley M. Dean; I am a Senior IT Analyst with the Veterans Administration in Loma Linda, CA. While vacationing at Mammoth Mt. (10 years old) our neighbor had a Honda 50 (with the collapsible handlebars) my neighbors let me ride--I was gone for hours--I was hooked!!! I started racing motorcycles in 1972--My first race was at Alhambra Motorcycle Park in California. I joined the AME and raced tracks such as Indian Dunes, Carlsbad, Ascot and Saddleback until 1978 then off to college. Won a bunch of events moved up in class won some lost some. I raced until I was 17 in the intermediate class. Remounted years later in1992 on a Yamaha YZ250 and joined Over the Hill Gang I was 32 years old. I have been riding with Over The Hill Gang ever since. I was badly injured in April of 2009 (Achilles Rupture) at Racetown. I fully recovered rejoined the 2011 season and finished 5th for the year. I was injured while practicing at Milestone at the end of 2012 with a full rotator cuff tear and bicep dislocation. I was in contention for the number 1 plate, but because of not being able to finish the last 2 races I finished in 3RD Overall for the Year. I had to go through complete reconstructive surgery, total of 3 surgeries during the last 3 years. I am back on the bike and training for the end of 2016 season. I just purchased a 2016 YZ450F in July and look forward to getting back up to speed and rejoining the OTHG series, REM and Road to Mammoth Series for 2017.
Riding Goals
2018- MCL injury in last race of 2017. Recovering from 2 knee surgeries. Training and back on the bike as of June. Will be racing with the OTHG and OTMX club events as well as SRA GP and some REM events for the remainder of 2018 starting in August.
