Rider Updates
Jan 28 2014
New year, new class. I can't wait till the first race this season. A whole new set of challenges to meet and goals to achieve. I hope this year ends as successfully as last year.
Update 2014: It was a good year, and I learned a lot. I learned the guys in my new class are seriously fast! My thoughts of running top 5 in this class quickly got a dose of reality at the first race where I finished towards the back of the pack in 17th. Each race got a little better, though the only time I even sniffed the front of the pack was off the start for a lap or two. I steadily improved a spot here and a spot there until at the final National I finished 11th overall with a best moto finish of 7th. Looking forward to the upcoming year and continuing to improve.

The season is now officially over for me and it's been a success. I had set out with the goal of winning a couple of OTHG Nationals and hopefully the National Championship as well as finishing in the top 10 in Chapter points. I fell short of my first goal and could only manage to score as high as second at several Nationals, but I accomplished the bigger goal of a National Championship in my age and skill bracket. It was a lot of travelling and racing with good results all year long and only minor injuries along the way. I also accomplished my goal of finishing in the top 10 by securing 7th overall in the final club points tally. I have to thank all the companies who offered support throughout the year. It made the cost of pursuing my goals more manageable and allowed me to attend more races. It also made the year easier to have top level equipment on my bike through my sponsorships. Thanks also to my wife, family and friends for all their support and encouragement.
