Personal History
I am 10 years old, 5' tall, and weigh 95 lbs. I am in the 5th grade at Kimberly Elementary School in Kimberly, Idaho. I have beeng riding since I was 5 and racing since I was 6. This is my 5th year and I love it because it gets harder every year as I move up in class. I am driven by the challenge to better my results and abilities. I have a younger brother that also races named Chase, and an older brother that helps us in the pits named Wyatt. My mom and dad support me alot and make many sacrifices for my safety and young career.
Riding Goals
My goals for the 2009 Season include:
1st Place 85cc 8-11 in Wild West Nationals and Idaho State Series.
Top 5 Supermini in Wild West Nationals and 1st place in Idaho State Series.
I want to accomplish this by really focusing on corner speed. I'm not afraid of jumps and I love the whoops, but I think if can pick up a second or two in the corners, the jumps will be even easier to get over. I started a series of excercise this year which basically consisted of sit-ups, push-ups, and watching what I ate. I think this next year I would like to add running and pull-ups. I believe 50% of the race is won before you line up on the gate.
Competitive Highlights
2008 Wild West Nationals: 85cc 8-11 - 5th place.
2008 Wild West Nationals: Supermini - 12th place.
2008 Idaho State Series: 85cc 9-11 - 5th place.
2008 Idaho State Series: Supermini 9-11 - 3rd place.
Competitive highlights this year were most evident when I realized that I WANTED it. There were several races where my dad would tell me I could go faster or I could jump further. But when I needed to dig deep and I knew I was going to have to reach that next level, I felt I could achieve anything. It was great knowing that I had it in me the whole time. I just had to believe in myself and recognize what others could already see. At the beginnig of the year, one of my friends could wreck 2 or 3 times and still catch me. But by the end of the year I was not only able to stay ahead of him but also catch and pass him! I studied where he was faster and learned to focus on practicing that, over and over and over. I'm not afraid of working hard to get what I deserve!
