Personal History
My name is Tyler Yokes, I am 15 years old and live in Graham Washington with my mom, dad, and sister. I like doing pretty much anything outside. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and camping with my family and friends but riding dirt bikes is my passion. I like spending time with my family and friends at the motocross track and meeting people who like dirt bikes as much as I. I didn’t start racing at a really young age like a lot of kids that race motocross. I started out riding trails around our property with my dad. It wasn’t until last year that I was able to talk my parents into letting me try racing on my Honda crf150r. I fell in love with racing motocross from that 1st gate drop. Riding is my favorite thing to do. I ride my pit bike or surron on a track my dad and I built on the back of our property almost everyday after school. I like to push myself to get better and faster.
Riding Goals
I like to ride because I feel free on my dirt bike when I’m ripping around the track. I like to push myself to get faster and win. I love the competition and racing. There’s nothing like the feeling of flying through the air over a finish line and taking the win!
I have a couple goals for 2025. 1st I just want to get faster. I want to win the overall points in 250 C, 450C and 125 open in the Friday night series at our local track Moto Pacific. I would also also like to qualify at the area qualifier for Loretta’s and race the regional qualifier and see how I do. I will also be racing the amateur nationals at Washougal where I would like to get top 5 in all of my classes.
I would like to qualify for Loretta’s either in 2025 or 2026 and get the opportunity to race there.
I have recently started to train with family friend, Nate Haas. Nate has raced against most of the top pros in the sport today. I believe with Nate’s knowledge, experience, and willingness to work with me I can accomplish my goals and become a better rider.
Competitive Highlights
In 2023, my 1st year of racing motocross I raced 5 rounds at Moto Pacific’s Friday night series where I finished in the top 10 of every moto in 85D and 85 open D. I also got my first moto win. I also raced at Washougal and finished in the top 10 in all my motos. Unfortunately my season was cut short after breaking my collarbone along with some other injuries in a crash.
