Personal History

My name is Tyler Blankenship and I just turned 7 years old on September 17th, 2011.  I am in the 2nd grade and attending Rosedale North elementary school..  My grades are mostly A’s, with a couple of B’s.

I started riding when I was 2 years old and started racing when I was 4. I have now been racing almost every weekend for the past two years, and practice at least 2 -3 times per week, not including the weekends.

I take a kick-boxing class twice a week to build up my strength and stamina.  I also ride my BMX bike at our local BMX track as cross-training.

Riding Goals

My goal right now is to ride and race as much as possible, and continue to have fun doing so.  I have been racing in the 50cc 4-6 age class and am consistently one of the top 3 place finishers.   I also race in the 50cc Open 4–8 year old class or 50cc Modified.  I usually place in the top 5 in these classes.  Since I recently turned 7, I will be moving up to the 7-8 age group class in 2012.   I just started racing on a 50cc King Cobra bike and am excited to be competing with the other riders on this bike.   I expect to get better finishes on this bike, because most of the other riders in my classes have already been racing on King Cobras, while I have been on my stock 50cc.  In 2012, I want to be a top 5 finisher in the amateur nationals. I am planning to race at Ponca and Loretta Lynn’s next summer, and hopefully Lake Whitney, Branson and the World Mini.    I do my best to eat right, exercise, and practice as much as possible to fulfill my goals.

Competitive Highlights

I race in at least two classes at every race, if they are available.  I do not have a modified bike, but I race in both the 50cc 4-6 Stock and the 50cc Modified.  I still consistently place in the top 5.

I competed in the Taft Arenacross series which was a 6 race series, and came away the champion in both the Peewee and 4-6 year old 50cc classes.

I placed 2nd in 2 different Loretta Lynn Qualifiers – One at Comp Edge in Hesperia and one in Marysville. I placed 2nd in 50cc Stock and 3rd in 50cc Open in the GFI Spring Series in Oatfield.  I placed 4th in both 50cc Stock and 50cc Open in the Dodge National.

I have also raced many other locations within the past year including Milestone Motocross Track, Glen Helen, Oakfield, and Hangtown.

I am consistently a top 3 finisher in the 50cc 4-6 class and usually top 5 in the 50cc Open 4-8 year old class as well. Full results are provided and also available online @ www.hookit.com/members/tyler917/. Thank you.
