Personal History

I am currently a sophomore college student involved in Army ROTC. I have been involved in working on power sports engines since high school within some of engineering classes i took. This experience led me to pursue outside of the classroom work, such as helping friends out with their own power sports engines repair and maintenance.  Last summer a home town friend of mine introduced me to the sport of motocross, so i am fairly new to this sport at least with the competitive side of it. I grew up riding a Honda TRX250 sport quad since the age of 11, mostly riding in the woods and sand pits of my area. As i grew older my father sold the sport quad, to much of my disappointment since i grew to love power sports. Finally, last summer i saved up my money and bought my first dirt bike, a Kawasaki kx125. i bought this bike because i loved riding when i was younger and so that i could ride with my buddy who also had dirt bikes. i spent most of the summer learning the ins and outs of my bike with a new top end rebuild and riding it whenever i could find time, even if it meant riding after work for a couple hours until the sun went down.

Riding Goals

I ride simply because i love it. I love the rush i get when im going hard in and out of a burm and when i bomb a jump or climb a steep risky hill. I'm not a great rider...yet. That is one of my long term goals, to be a great rider. Since i have only been riding a dirt bike for a couple months my skills have progressed quickly and i feel that i have become a decent rider with the experience that i have, with only more growing potential. As of right now i have only participated in one race but that has merely sparked my competitive side in racing. From this first race i have a shorter term goal of climbing to the top 25 out of 70 of my beginner class that i am currently competing in. In the future i want to compete in MX races of the next spring and summer series' and then more hare scrambles in the next fall series.

Competitive Highlights

The competitive highlight for me so far would be competing in my first hare scramble ever. Getting to the point where i got to start on that line in the beginner class was a great achievement of mine that i had been working towards since the middle of summer.
