Personal History
My name is Ty Cook, I am a 16 year old dirt bike racer from Grants, NM and a junior at Grants High School. I have been riding bikes since I was 5 years old, I grew up in the country so I spent a lot of time riding in the open fields around my house. I started racing in late 2007 when I got my YZ85, I raced in the beginner and super-mini classes. In late 2009 I started racing my YZ250F at motocross tracks throughout New Mexico. I also recently attended my first Arena Cross Event and placed 2nd overall in the 250 beginner class. I love to race, it has become something I am very serious about and cannot imagine my life without it.
Riding Goals
In 2010 my goal is to qulaify in the top 5 for the NMA Nationals in Ponca City, OK. I plan to attend all qualifying races needed to achieve this goal. I also have set a goal to win the summer series for Arena Cross throughout New Mexico and Texas. I also want to improve my riding skills to my fullest potential I am going to accomplish this by attending as many races as possible and I am also going to take riding clases after races every chance I get.
Competitive Highlights
I went to my first Arena Cross in Farmington, New Mexico and won second overall.
