Aug 19 2010

On sunday, August 15th, 2010, Tucker Heywood took a first place finish at the Western Indoor Nationals Motocross race held in Salt Lake at the Energy Solutions Arena.

He performed well even though he had not been on an Arena Cross track that tight and fast. His fears quickly escaped him as he rounded the first turn.

His performance during both motos was great. He rode well and managed to keep the tires on the dirt and take a first place. Great job Tucker!!!

Friday night, September 18, 2009... The riders were lined up at the gates, anticipating the drop and feeling thier engines rev to redline.

With a loud clang the gates dropped and the riders shot forward toward the first turn. Screaming for the hole shot, Tucker Heywood takes is with a few feet to spare.

Blowing out of the first turn on his CRF 50 may not seem as energetic as the pros, but for this dad, it couldn't have been more perfect. The last race of a great first season and Tucker not only took the hole shot but was holding the lead like a rider with years of experience.

Throughout the first four laps, Tucker stayed in the lead until the turn at the bottom of the straight away. He missed a gear and was passed by another rider. However, he quickly regained his composure and realized what he needed to do to get back the lead.

Half way to the white flag, Tucker saw an opportunity to make his move...The whoops. He made a hard right turn and started the whoops... Creeping closer, he gave it all the gas he could and made the pass.

Coming on to the straight away for the final lap, He put the hammer down. He managed to maintain the lead for the final lap and took the checkered flag.

What a fantastic race to and a great first season. Way to go son!!!
