Personal History
Trevor Raley is a 8 year-old rider out of La Center Washington. He is known as being a dedicated rider with a big heart. He can always be found with a big smile on his face, especially when he is around dirt bikes. Learning to ride a bike was like learning to eat ice cream for Trevor. At the age of two, dad decided it was time for Trevor to remove the training wheels off his bicycle. Time for Trevor to remove them was a literal statement. You see Trevor didn't want to take them off, but he would never pass up the opportunity to use tools, especially on his bike!
First run without training wheels was a solo flight of about 100 yards. Crash at the end, turn around, and ride it back. Learning to ride a dirt bike was just about as fast. Trevor's first dirt bike was a Yamaha PW50, which he rode the wheels off of. From there, he moved up to a KTM Senior Adventure, which was the first bike he had the opportunity to race. Currently, Trevor is riding a 2004 KTM SX 50 Pro Senior.
Racing dirt bikes is all Trevor thinks about. Like many boys his age, his room doesn't require paint because the walls are covered with motocross posters and pictures. Added to that decor now is a bookcase of trophies and plaques from his first year of racing; however like his attitude towards racing, Trevor takes school very seriously and has worked hard to keep excellent grades. His teacher has accepted that many of his stories have dirt bike themes, but appreciates the creative and neat work he does.
In between motos, Trevor can often be found out on the soccer field. As a contrast to motocross, he enjoys the camaraderie of a team sport. He possess' an excellent set of skills and loves to practice new moves.
Riding Goals
With a season of racing experience, Trevor is looking forward to the dryer months to refine his riding technique. His wish for the summer is that dad will put a more complete track in for him to practice on. He assures his parents that soon the only thing in his way will be the lapped traffic.
During the spring of 2008 Trevor will be trying his hand at a new track...Washougal Washington. He is very excited to ride at the same location that many of his favorite professionals, Jeremy McGrath and Chad Reed, ride at.
In the fall, Trevor will be looking forward to retunring to the Woodland Washington motocross track as a seasoned veteran. The additional experience of racing at Washougal should help build the confidence he needs to take the checkered flag.
Competitive Highlights
Racing for overall points, can be as exciting as placing first on race day. For Trevor he has been excited reviewing the point standings each week to see how his year is going. Then on race day, he has targeted who has to finish behind him as he races to for first place. Recently one of his close competitors passed him on the last lap, but you could see his relentless determination in his racing. Around the last set of tight corners Trevor was several bike lengths back but he cornered perfectly, just like he had practiced so many times before. Then he pinned the throttle in the straight away and at the finish line crossed first edging out the ambitious competitor by a half a bike length.
Trevor is currently in the running in two motocross series for top 3 overall finishes. Trevor is a dedicated rider who’s has proven, he will never give up.
