Personal History
Hi my is Trenton Shafer and I am from Coffeyville, KS, I am 12 years old. I got my first bike at the age of 6. At the age of 10 I wanted to start racing in motocross events. My parents decided to build a track at our home for me to practice on before riding in events. I practiced every day for almost a year before my first race March 31, 2012 at Tulsa MX Track. I am very excited about my racing future. I will be applying the techniques that I have learned to allow me to Race on Faith and win more races.
Riding Goals
I have a goal to become a supercross rider. There are a lot of other riding goals I have before I can get there. To help me reach that goal my parents and I have set up a schedule that will challenge me. I want to win Oklahoma Nationals, I want to be a Loretta Lynn qualifier, I want to ride in Las Vegas, and so much more. Over the next several years I plan to train hard, practice hard and run in as many events as I can.
Competitive Highlights
It may sound weird but one of my most favorite highlights was my first race. Even though I only got 8th out of 25 riders. I was so excited that my racing career had started. At each race I set a goal for myself to beat my best lap time, beat a competitor, or beat my brother (Tyler Shafer). It is always a great feeling to accomplish your goal. So far I have been able to do just that with all three of those goals and it felt great. I set new goals and I know this year will bring some HUGE highlights for my racing career.
