Rider Updates

Mar 30 2015

This past Saturday the AMA FMF Texas Night Series started at Village Creek. I've been training with Cheyenne Harmon the last couple of weeks, so I was ready to get with it! I had a good start on the first moto, but got bumped but the first corner and knocked me back quite a bit. I just couldn't get in the rhythm of it after that. Second moto went much better. Just missed the hole shot and fought for 2nd/3rd up until the last lap. A rider came up and caught me and passed. I ended with 5th overall. I'm really proud of that finish! It was my first plaque finish in C class! My confidence is building as is my speed.

This next weekend we will be at Badlands MX continuing with the Dealer Series. They have made changes to the track, so I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do!

Mar 25 2015

The last 2 weeks of races have been cancelled due to rain and overly muddy tracks. I have been able to work with Cheyenne Harmon though! That's been very helpful! Two of the races for the Dealer Series have been rescheduled. The FMF AMA Texas Night Series begins this weekend at Village Creek MX. I'm pumped and ready to put those tips I've learned to use!

There have been several serious injuries and deaths in the last couple of months in the mx world. I hope the Mx community can find ways to improve safety on the tracks and in the equipment us riders use. I love riding, as I know thousands of others do too. Ride smart and safe!

Yesterday started the night series for 2015 in North Texas! Village Creek is hosting it's 3rd annual Dealer Series. They redesigned their night track and changed the scoring format to follow the Supercross format. I had to rebuild my bike early this year, so I was unable to race in the Winter Series, so this is the first series I'm able to compete in fully in the C class.

I did really well last night. My starts were right on! I almost pulled the hole shot in both starts! I did really well in both races. I ended up with 6th out of 17 guys. I feel really good about that, being my first time really racing in C class. I had hoped to get in the top 10, so again, I'm happy with this.

We will be racing at Badlands next weekend. I'm looking forward to it! They changed up the track there as well!

Thanks so much to all that support me!

I'm in between series', so I've been practicing here at local tracks. Today we went out to Burleson MX to race, it's a local track in the area. It was my first time racing Novice, but I went into it knowing I wasn't competing for first place. I expected to be somewhere in the middle, and I was right. I ended the day with 7th overall in the 250 Novice (out of 12) and 6th in the 250 Open (out of 11). My corners were sick! My speed was great too! I've posted pics from today.

Thanks for the new sponsorship offers! They are greatly appreciated!

November 8 was the State Championship final at Freestone MX in Wortham, TX. Practice day was crazy! They had gotten several inches of rain earlier in the week. It was incredibly muddy! Even the pros had trouble jumping with all the mud caked on their bikes. Saturday was my day to race. I had a good start for both motos. First race was good. I held onto 4th until the last lap. There was a really tight, slippery corner a lot of riders went down in. And of course, I went down. It was quick, I was back up and on my bike in no time. But not without 2 riders passing me. The 2nd moto went better.  I stayed up and hit all my corners fast and hard. The day ended and out of 21 riders, I placed 6th overall. I'm proud of my progress this year. I started racing in April and have improved enough to go up to the C class in January!

After watching myself on the GoPro, I see where I can improve. My jumps and corners are very smooth. It's hard to see when I land form a jump, its so smooth! I mostly need to increase my speed.

The next series starts January 2. It's the Texas Winter Series. I'm told it's huge. Since most of the country will be frozen, they say there will be people from all over the country here for it!

Thanks so much for all of your support!

October 19 was the Final race for the Texas AMA District 41 series. I went into it with a 5 point lead for 1st place. First moto went well. I got 3rd. Second moto went well also. the start was squirrely, I was next to last on that first corner. But very quickly I passed most everyone to get to 4th. The 3rd place rider went down in a corner on the 2nd lap, I took 3rd. We were the last race for each moto, the track was hard and rough by then! I raced hard and felt I gave it my best. I ended in 3rd overall for the day. I placed 2nd for the series, missing 1st by 4 points. I'm proud of my progress this year. I still improve each and every time I hit the gate.

The Texas State Championship in November 8. The best from Texas will be there! I'll give it my best! This will be my last time racing as a beginner. The next series starts in January and I'll be moving up to Novice!

Oct 13 2014

After a break for a few weeks, we got back at it at Oak Hill MX Park.

First moto I went down in the 2nd corner. There were 15 guys in the race. I caught up and passed all but the 1st place guy by the last lap. Unfortunately, I stalled it in one of the last corners and ended up with 3rd place. It was probably my best race yet! At first I was upset because I stalled it, but realized how well I had done overall.

Second moto started better. I still haven't gotten the hole shot, but I'm definitely getting closer! I got 2nd place in this one and 2nd over all for the day.

Good news is I'm now in 1st place for the series, but only by 5 points! Next week we are at Johnsonville MX in Yantis, TX.

Sep 22 2014

On September 14 I raced at Swan Raceway. First race went well, I got 3rd. 2nd race, I wrecked early in the first lap and was dead last. It took me the better part of a lap to catch up to the next guy. I ended up with 12th out of 21 for that race, 6th overall that day.

9/21 the race was at Village Creek in Fort Worth. It was an ok day. I got 3rd the first moto and 4th the second. Ended with 2nd place overall. I could've pushed it and gotten better place, but I was thinking safe and decided not to push it and risk wrecking again and losing points.

I'm behind first place in points by 20 and ahead of third by 7 points. I had 2nd only by 3 points, so I gained a little!

We have 2 weeks off. Next round is at Oakhill Raceway in Decatur, Tx.

Sep 8 2014

As of today, in my 3rd series to race in, I am in 2nd place out of 26 in the 122+ Open and 8th place out of 21 in Schoolboy 2! The last race I had strep, so I wasn't really feeling it. This weekends race is at Swan Raceway, I have new tires, sprockets and chain on board! Ready to kick up some roost!

Aug 31 2014

2nd Round was today at River Valley MX. I raced well! Placed 2nd in both motos and 2nd overall! Schoolboy was better. My corners get better every race! We have a week off of racing, then we go to Swan Raceway by Tyler, Tx.

Thanks a lot to all of those that have offered me sponsorships!

Aug 24 2014

I raced the 1st round of the AMA Texas District 41 series Sunday at Buffalo Creek MX. Very tough track. A lot of breaking bumps and really just a tough track overall. I placed 3rd overall in 122+ Beg. I also took the leap and raced in Schoolboy 12-16. I was nervous, the riders in this class are very fast. But I know pushing myself will just make me faster too. I plan on doing Schoolboy at every event now.

Next weekend is Round 2 at River Valley MX in Boyd, Tx.

Aug 17 2014

Hit Buffalo Creek MX in Canton, TX today. It had rained some, perfect conditions. Preparing for the Texas AMA District 41 Series that starts next weekend!

Thanks so much to my new sponsors Streamline and TwinAir! They are in addition to Swifty's Motorcycle, Johnson County Kawasaki and Cycle Gear Fort Worth! I'm so ready for next weekend!
