Personal History

A late bloomer going all in.

I first got into motocross through my dad who had a couple of enduro bikes when I was a kid. While going to the tracks and trails with him I started to get the hang of things by riding a Tunturi Tiger 50cc moped borrowed from a relative. After practising with my father's old Honda 125 and KTM 200, In 2010 I bought my first own bike, a KTM 125SX 2007. I rode and upkept it with care all the way to the spring of 2022. At that point I finally gave into my growing interest of riding a 4-stroke and got myself a 2015 KTM 350SX-F.

In 2015 I took part in my first official race, Finnish national MX-Liiga, on Vantaa's Lavanko track because I love to compete and wanted to see if I was fast enough to line up in an entry level adult class. I managed to avoid last place in overall results but I clearly had some work to do if I wanted to keep racing. I raced a few more races in 2017-2018. I really got into racing in 2021 when I took part in 4 races of the season. Surpassing 30 years of age I started to feel like it's now or never to see what potential I have left before turning full vet. I've since then practiced riding skills with intent with the help of my (a lot) faster friend while doing work-outs and exercising during off-seasons to improve strength and endurance. 2022 was the first full season of racing, clocking 45 hours to my bike.

With my friend, we're heading towards a full season of racing in 2023 as a small team.

Riding Goals

My goals for the upcoming season are 1) to finish in top 15 in a single event and 2) to score a holeshot. Should I manage to get that top 15 overall, the goal is upped to a top 10 finish.

My dream is to one day be able to compete for a podium and to be able to lead the pack in a race. Hopeful that I can turn that dream into a realistic goal.

Competitive Highlights

A successful start in SIpoo moto 2 of 2022, where I crossed the holeshot line in 3rd or 4th place. An absurdly good feeling to race, even if for a brief moment, so that there isn't anyone ahead of you. That I want to feel again.
