Personal History
Hello there!, So I am Timothy Joe (T.J.) Wesbecher II, I was born June 23,1985 in little ole Evansville, Indiana at St.Mary's hospital. On that day , I changed my parents lives forever! My mother (Mrs. Melissa Wesbecher) and Father (Mr. Timothy J. "Tim" Wesbecher) had no idea just what kind of two- wheel thunder and racing fanatic i would be from the very start. The passion of riding motorcycles was pretty much in my blood. going back to my great grandfather Glenn Wesbecher Sr. in which got my grandpa Glenn Wesbecher involved with riding horse and motorcycles, then he also passed the love of riding down to My dad and his brother when they were young, young boys with the first Honda trail 70 and the Honda XR75. It doesn't stop there! I also get it honestly from my mother's side of the family as well! My mom's father Donald Brown Sr. was also a man of two wheels most of his life, that also grace his 5 boys and 2 girls with the love of riding motorcycles. So with that being said, it might help with who T.j. Wesbecher II is and all about! I go by T.j. since my dad goes by Tim. I'm 38 years old, I'm a union carpenter out of local 224 of Evansville, Indiana. I've been in the trades since the day i graduated From Castle High School(2003) in Newburgh, Indiana in which the town I live in. with my apprenticeship program, I not only completed but finished at the top of the class and received my journeyman license, but also at that time earned my college degree from Ivy Tech technical Institute. I started riding in 1991 on a Suzuki DS80 and IN 1995 not only did my parent not realize but myself was getting ready to experience in my opinion the most incredible lifestyle or whatever you want to call it! my mother signed me up for my first race ! at the time my dad traveled for work, and was unable to be there , so my mom was my crew chief and my little sister which also rides still to this day was my voice in the stands. Little did i know at the point was when a fun activity just turned into an obsession and my way of life! from then on i was a full out racer, not just kid that rode dirt bikes. Just about everything i do has something to with dirt bikes except my career. I'm the guy that eats, sleeps, dreams and breathes dirt bikes! And everyone around my community knows it. I think it's pretty awesome that basically almost everyone in my family from my great grandparents, both grandpas, all my uncles, my cousins, my mom and my dad, my little sister and her husband, my son and my wife all ride dirt bike and as well as my 3 nieces and two nephews ride as well!!! My son, my father and i still go and race! I love it. So, i started out in 1995 at Motocross race at the local 4-h fairgrounds during the county fair, from then on, I had to keep doing it, finding actual tracks, an attending every track in southern Indiana, southern Illinois and northwest Kentucky. along the bumpy and rough road of being a dirt bike racer most of the years of my life I don't regret any of it! I've had some really bad wrecks, I've been landed on more than couple of times, broke bones and spent lord who knows how much money, and still to this day i still get that unreplaceable feeling that you can't find anywhere else other than throwing a leg over the seat, twisting a grip, riding a wheelie, sending it off a jump, or flying through the trees. it's not just a hobby, its way of life and it will always be a big part of my life always! now that I've got older, I have started passing on and training the youth in m my racing community, which is awesome! I'm an active member of the Lynnville Area Dirt Riders Association "L.A. Dirt Riders" where I have been Appointed the Clubs "Trailboss" which is in charge of the trail system at the club property's and head of the racing committee and organizer, which the L.A. dirt riders and two other area clubs make up THE SOUTHERN INDIANA GRAND PRIX SERIES (S.I.G.P.S) which has grown in size over the years. I also have promoted 3 my own races for that series in the past couple yrs.Riding Goals
A few of my goals this upcoming year for me and also my riding/racing, would be to push a little harder in my exercise and strength training which in return better my breathing. you know like most riders tell themselves I'm going to be the fastest guy on the track, but in order to do that you have start and religously ride with the fastest guys in your area. so, this year I started reaching out the certain riders in my riding area that were faster or have beat me in previous races or series to see what was missing and there was an immediate difference in my riding because finally someone could tell me or explain what i could do better.
My next goal is to get more actual seat time, I truly believe that nothing is better than seat time to better you as a rider because it actually show what you can or can't do, not the gym. but also seat time in the different conditions, because anybody can be fast in ideal conditions and riding the same trails or tracks.
another is to get some real sponsors hopefully and finally be noticed after all these years i know I'll probably never make it to the night show of a supercross, but i have ran with and against some top harescramble,xc and gncc guys .
But most importantly come into the upcoming season of my long awaited Debut into A class being a Top contender every time! not sometimes. I'm even going back to my roots and going back to Two Stroke! The thunder has done me pretty good but ill probably more competitive on the Lightning blow smoke!
so i want top 3 finish in local series (sigps) (extremexc) crossroadsxc
attend more national enduros and gnccs
also want to go attend national sprint enduros
