Personal History

I first started riding in 2007 when I was 8 years old and shortly began doing the Utah Desert series. In 2011 I was diagnosed with bone cancer in my lower left leg, underwent 14 rounds of chemotherapy and had the lower portion of my left leg amputated. I didn't ride again until 2021 and quickly started doing desert races a few months later.

As for a little about me, I love being outdoors. If I'm not riding on a weekend, I'm either out camping, hunting, or skiing. I got married in June 2023 and am expecting to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.

Riding Goals

I ride because riding brings a sense of freedom that can seldom be found elsewhere. It allows me to clear my mind of anything going on and provides a mental and emotional reset while exercising my body. Riding also provides me an excellent form of physical therapy and a workout.

As for racing, I race to continually improve my speed and skill. I enjoy testing my abilities against other riders and partially prove to myself that, despite my missing limb, I can still compete and improve.

Competitive Highlights

  • 3rd Place Overall in USRA Open Novice in 2023
  • Volunteer with Sage Riders to assist in their Hare and Hound race in 2023, 2024, and 2025
