Personal History
I began riding when I was 8 years old. The majority of my riding growing up was on our familly farm and wood's trail's in northern Wisconsin. Iv'e been a motocross enthusiast since the first time I saw it on Wide World of Sports in the late 70's. In highschool I would help friend's who raced at a local track just to be involved. Never having money to compete myself, I was content to watch and attend open practice day's. In the 90's I took up racing mountain bike's in the mid west. Competing in cross country, down hill, and dual slolom. Placed well a few time's and brought home a few medal's. When my daughter was 8 I took her to see a motocross race at our local track. After only seeing it on tv before, she thought it was pretty cool. Fast forward to 2012, I was diognosed with diabetes. I was able to regulate blood sugar with diet and 1 pill. I turned to riding for exersize and conditioning. In 2013 I became a rookie at age 42 to show my daughter that I could still ride and to show her that there is nothing to br afraid of competing. The season started out rough to say the least. I went out with an untested bike and competed as best I could with the knowledge I had. Having never run a custom engine set-up, what I knew about tuning went out the window. With some help from a couple friend's at the track, we dialed the bike in by season's end. I am looking forward to a great 2014 race season! My daughter Emma, plan's to join me in the 2014 AMA District 16 motocross seasion. I will also be bringing out my restored 1986 CR 500 to race in Open B and to show that vintage iron is still cool.
Riding Goals
Goal's for 2014 is to finish every moto on the lead lap and place in the top 10 in year end point's. The key will be consistant start's, bike controle, physical fitness. I will continue to ride my 1994 RM 125 in senior 40+ , and move up to Open B on my vintage CR 500. My daughter and myself plan to race as many AMA District 16 race's as time and money will allow. Looking forward to a great new riding season. Hope to have as many new sponsor's on board as possible.
For 2019 I plan to make a run for Lorreta's. New equipment. New training. And most of all, a new mindset. With support from family and friends I'm know I can accomplish this goal!Competitive Highlights
