Personal History
History/Bio |
I started riding at the age of 5 and racing at the age of 12. I raced 1 year of Hare Scrambles, and 2 years in 80cc Senior from the ages of 12-15 where I finished top 3 in District 17 Illinois. In 1991 I raced 125B, then raced 125A and 250A from 1992 - 1997 (Stadium and MX) where I consistantly finished in the top 5 and qualified for some arena crosses. I was sponsored by Leipold Motor Sales, Silkolene, Oakley, Race Tech and MSR. In 1997 decided to call it quits due to some injuries and health issues with my father, and to further my career in the IT field. To fill the gap from missing racing so much Wakeboarding became my new hobby and In the year 2000 I started a Non For Profit Wakeboarding and Watersports organization called Midwest Militia Action Sports. For 8 years we put on some of the biggest events in the Midwest, growing each year. In 2008 I got into riding pitbikes and competed in the Mod Pitbike class in 2009, then at the beginning of the year in 2010 I tore My ACL and had to have surgery, putting me out for the whole season. After 2010 I called it quits with the pitbikes and decided to race some +30 and +35 MX, as well as a few Hare Scrambles and Off Road Races and GP races. So far this year we've had a few rainouts and my results have continued to improve each race. Right now I am on a 2007 YZ250f competing with all newer 450s in the vet classes. At the last race My my YZ seized up on me in the main, its a few years old so I am seeking some support to hopefully get me on a 450 to be more reliable and competitive. I have lots of experience and have established many good relationships with vendors and businesses in the Action Sports community. I can provide results, promotion and advertising and banners on every page of my websites as well as bike graphics and promotion at the tracks and events I attend. As I said this is something I have a lot of experience with from running the Action sports website, we've added a page just for Moto where I track some of the local kids and vet riders results and post photos, which could easily lead to more business for your company as well. Please check us out at www.midwestmilitia.net. My current racing sponsors are No Fear, EVS, Scott, Globe Shoes and PitPosse/Outlaw Racing Products. My current profession is a Level II Systems Engineer at Rush Copley Medical Center. My hobbies include riding, boating, wakesurfing, snowboarding and hanging out with my 5 and 7 year old daughters and wife, and I also do some website design on the side. |
Riding Goals
2011 is still in effect until November here in Illinois. My goals have been to stay safe and finish consistently in the top 10 in +30A and top 5 in +35, so far I have done both with the exception of one mechanical failure. For 2012 I'd like to get on a new 450 and build some new relationships and consistently finish in the top 3.
Competitive Highlights
Throughout the 90's I consistently finished in the top 5 in District 17 Illinois, where I managed to win a couple state Championship.
In 2009 I got back into racing with a Mod Pitbike and finished 2nd overall at the Mendota Megacross Series, had some wins and all top 3 finishes.
Was out 2010 with a torn ACl.
2011 was my actual first full year back from 'retirement' in the +30A and +35 classes. So far I've manage to stay in the top 6 riding a 250F, I've had a heat race win, and some top 3 finishes.
