Personal History

I learned at a young age that if I wasn’t the most talented, I could have an underdog/out work your competitors attitude. I also learned that if I couldn’t do something well, I didn’t like involving myself in it. My first summer racing was in 2002 on a 1996 XR100 in Supermini. At the time we could not afford a real race bike, but I never once got last and had a blast! I later got a CR85 and spent a lot more time in the front of the pack than the back! I went to a Christian high school but was required to help pay my school bill. I was a janitor at the school, a server at a restaurant, and eventually started mowing lawns to pay for school and riding. By 16, all riding and racing was self-financed. I bought a truck to mow and bought a friend's KX250F to keep riding, but never raced it. I graduated high school in 2009, and that summer made the gut-wrenching decision to sell my bike to pay for college. The mowing business had really kicked off as well, so I couldn't risk getting hurt and not working.

Fast forward to 2018, this has been the first year I have raced in over 10 years, ending a terrible hiatus! I bought a 2018 CRF250R and am absolutely in love with the bike and racing again. I'm fortunate to have a career where the time commitment and risks of racing don't interfere, so I've traveled and raced as much as I could this summer.

Outside of motocross, I love my job. I started and built a lawn care company that does very well in the Lincoln market. I have been playing the piano and the drums both for nearly 20 years and still play all the time. I really enjoy writing covers of popular songs and posting them on Instagram from time to time. I also snowboard quite a bit and make sure to get to Colorado a few times a year.

Riding Goals

For 2019, I plan to stay in the B/Intermediate class for another year to really settle in and improve. I plan to hit the Nitro Arenacross North region races and possibly SX Futures in Denver. I will be racing the Best of the Midwest Series and hopefully get involved in one or two other series. Nebraska doesn't have much of a race scene, so I would like to travel further to races in Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, and South Dakota.
