Personal History
My name is Tayla Thompson and I am 6 years old.
I started riding when I was 18 months old on a
strider bike. I got my first quad at age 2 a 2018
YFZ 50 and fell in love with all things racing. When
I turned 3, I got my first Stacyc bike and this is where I realized I loved the
two wheel life a little more than four. For my 4th birthday, my parents got me my first dirt bike. It was a 2020 TTR50. To
give me practice on two wheels, they signed me
up for my first stacyc swapmoto gromcross when
Covid hit and they cancelled them all. We turned
to the outdoors and started riding everywhere we
could on our stacyc bikes. My mom started a
Facebook page called Stacyc Owners San Diego to
get people together for ride days and to bring
more people into the sport. It is now used daily to
spread news about many different events being
held. Eventually things started to open up, we
found any place that would let us race stacycs! I spent most of 2021 racing Stacycs at Glen Helen
AME Minicross, Swapmoto Gromcross, Cactus Park BMX Track, San Diego BMX and Lake Elsinore
MX Track. At the End of 2021, I had taken home the number 1 plate at the Lake Elsinore Wacky
Racers 16in Girls- Open beginner class. In 2022, I started to step away from the Stacyc scene and
focused on riding dirtbikes. We bought a 1994 PW 50 that we got in box of pieces and my dad and I
built together. My first PW race i took home a 5th place and was hooked. We spent more of our time
racing at Lake Elsinore MX in their Wacky Racers series and quickly transitioned in May to Moto 4
kids at our first race at Barona MX. Over the Summer, I got my new bike, my 2020 KTM E5 and
started training with female MX rider Brook Whipple at Lake Elsinore MX on mini nights. I also participated in an All girls ride day with Brimco Mx at Lake Elsinore. This Fall I have been bouncing
between the Swapmoto and Moto 4 Kids race series to finish off the year. Currently I am sitting 4th
in the girls class for Swap moto Fall classic Girls class and 6th in the 50cc 4-6 starter-beginner class.
