Personal History
My name is Tate Ray Norris. I am 8 years old and currently in the 3rd grade. I live with my mom, dad, older brother, and our new puppy. We live in Taft, California and have lived here my whole life. I love riding my dirt bike, running, playing sports, and riding bikes around the neighborhood. In the summer I also love swimming. I love being goofy with my brother and making people laugh. In my short 8 years I have already travelled to 18 states. I hope to visit more too. I also love fishing like my dad and would do that every day if I could. At the race in Preston Idaho I would fish between races which was a fun time.
I love school. I have had the same tight nit group of friends since kindergarten. Every year the teachers tell us they have never seen a tighter group of kids. In kindergarten we had to watch one of our best friends, Wyatt, battle cancer. He passed away in 1st grade, but left behind a very close group of friends. I like to do all the things since Wyatt cannot. I am doing very well in school. My favorite subject is math. I am so glad school is back in person since during covid I did not get to see my friends every day.
Riding Goals
One of my main goals is to have a blast. i want to be a light to other kids and just be a positive person in general. I want to travl to new places and ride new tracks along the way.
I would really like to get an end of season podium with WORCS racing again in 2023. I would also like to get more podiums at the individual rounds. I know consistency gets you places, but I would like to break in to the top 3 as many times as I can and shoot for the top of the box. I would also like to race more local events.
I have been really practicing and working hard on becoming better and better. I feel like I have really improved on the large jumps and rhythm sections. I hope to improve my corner speed this off season.
Along with riding in the 50cc class next season I hope to also start racing on my 65. I raced one 65 race this last season and felt I did pretty good for it being my first time. I got a top 10 finish coming in at 9th. I hope to do that more and more to get even more comfortable on the bigger bike.
Competitive Highlights
For the 2022 World Offroad Championship Series I received and end of the year 3rd place podium. I am very proud of that and worked hard to get there. To see your hard work pay off with an end of year podium is a great feeling.
Throughout the 10 round WORCS series I received three 3rd place podiums and one second place podium. I also received many top five finishes throughout the year.
At my local track I have also received one 3rd place and one 2nd place podium.
Along with podiums I have received many Holeshot awards through the season. My favorite Holeshot was received at Glen Helen raceway.
