Personal History

My name is Tanner Stanford and I am excited to be considered for sponsorship of your products for this upcoming season.  Please allow me to tell you a little about myself.  I am from the small town of Odessa, Washington.  I started racing in 2008 when a great friend of mine invited me to ride in a local race just for fun.  I won the race and was hooked!  Sadly, it was the last race of the season and I couldn't wait for the 2009 season to start.  At that time I was riding a CRF150 and I dominated in our local races.

In 2010 I bought my brothers CRF250R and was ready to get serious about racing.  I had a rough start to the year in the local beginner class.  I was riding great but found it hard to get in a good clean race without a crash.  One of those early season crashes broke my arm and set me back a while.  It was a blessing though because it was during that time that one of our local shops put me in touch with the man that is now my trainer, Nick McConahy.  Nick put me right to work as soon as my arm was healed and we made a plan to focus on training more than racing for the rest of the year.  I also attended a riding school that the Alessis put on at a local track where during Start training, they chose the 3 best riders to demonstrate starts and I was one of those riders.

For the 2011 season a little confusion found me entered in a Loretta Lynn area qualifier as a C rider.  It was quite an experience and even though it was not what I had planned, I made it to regional's.  I had planned on having one more year as a beginner rider but it all worked out in the end.  I had a real challenge in front of me and I really had to kick it up a notch to compete at this level.  I can't say that I it all went great though.  I had to work through a lot, physically and emotionally, it took me a while to get my confidence and realize that I do have what it takes to make it happen.  I did not make it past the regional qualifier but my goal is set for it this next season.  I was also able to enter a few local races as well and pulled some pretty good results.  I did however injure my hand during a mid-season training session and end up out for 10 weeks putting an end to my season.  At this time I am still training and am planning to hit as many area arenacross races as I can throughout the winter to keep improving my skills and abilities.  I want to stay on top of my game.

I can't express how excited I am for the 2012 season.  My plans are to continue my training with my focus on making it to the Loretta Lynn Nationals as well as the Dodge Nationals and Mini O's.  I will continue racing at local area tracks as much as possible but I would really like to make this year my year to step it up and make it all happen!  I believe that My competitive spirit, winning attitude and the support of my family will give me what I need to accomplish my goals.  I also believe that these attributes, along with my desire to be the best role model possible to the next generation of motocross riders will make me a great representative for your products and your company.  Thank you for your time and consideration.  I hope to be working with you in the 2012 season.  Please feel free to contact me at your convenience.

Sincerely,

Tanner Stanford

Competitive Highlights

Two years ago was my first year racing.  I won every race I raced in the 150cc class that year.  Last year I moved up to the big bikes.  I won a local race in the 250cc class before getting injured.  I attended a workshop with the Alessi's and Jay Wipple where I was pulled out of the group and used as an example for my starts.  It was quite a compliment. This year I have been training hard for Loretta lynn's
