Personal History
My name is Tanner Howell. I am fourteen years old and I live in Bishop California. I started playing baseball when I was six and that led on to soccer and roller hocky. I had quite a few friends who rode motocross and that's what motivated me to ride. I let my dad know that I wanted to do it and left it at that. It wasn't until I was ten that he bought me one. It was a yamaha 60. Unfortunatly I blew it up twice because I did not know how to ride two strokes. After I blew it up the second time my dad got me a Honda crf 80. I learned how to ride that for one year. Then my dad got me a Honda crf 150R. I rode that for a while and then he got me a cr85 along with two super-mini 112s. I have been riding and racing ever since.
Riding Goals
My goals for this coming year are to get a top ten at Mammoth motocross and the Glen Helen National Amatuers, be top five at all CMC races, get top five at any race and hopefully even podium. I will work hard and train as hard as I can. I want to keep a positive attitude in all racing/riding situations. I also would like to make a name for myself as I race and travel more.
Competitive Highlights
My first race was on my Honda crf 80 at the local fairgrounds. I got a second overall in the three race series. I raced my crf 150R in the supermini class at the local fairgrouds the next year and got a fourth overall in the supermini class. I raced Mammoth motocross after that in the 85 12-13 class and got 25 overall out of the two days. That same year I raced my crf 80 in the pit bike class, my crf 150R in the supermini class, and my 85 in the intermediate class. I won all six motos. I raced Fernley(Nevada) in the 85 intermediate class and won both motos. I raced a CMC race in the 85 beg. class and won both motos. I raced again at another CMC race in the supermini class, 150 open class, and the 125 jr. class. On the supermini i won the first moto and was leading the second moto and got a flat. In the 150 open I won the fist moto and wasn't able to race the second moto because of my flat tire. In the 125 jr. I got a seventh overall.
