Personal History

Hi,

My name is Steven Traughber I’m a 32 year old father of 2 young boys Ages 9 and 6 who love to ride as much as I do. I work as the service manager and resident master technician at EagleRider Flagstaff. I have been riding since I was three. As  a young child I would work all summer mowing lawns to make enough money to compete in just a few races a year as the product of a poor single parent house hold.

I first started competing at the age of 11 in the ADRA circuit and fastly went from a beginner to expert in just three races. As times got harder I had to start to learn to repair my own motorcycle as we didn’t have the money to take it to the shop for repairs and maintenance. Thus that is where my career field took me as I love to work on bikes as much as I love to ride them. After taking several years away from the sport and focusing on my career and raising my family I have recently gotten back into riding and racing again with my children and I have been mentoring my little brother as well as he is wanting to make racing a career.

Riding Goals

I want to compete in the AMRA series in 2011-2012, I would like to place in the top three in points by season end but first in points is the true place I want to be. I will also be competing in the AMX series for 2012 which has some conflicting dates with the AMRA series. My goal for the AMX series is of course first over all but realistically will hope to get in the top 10 as I haven’t done much motocross racing in my life, (mostly desert, trail riding).I’m  looking to expand my racing back ground to include motocross.

I would also like to compete in a few of the closer AMA motocross events in California and Colorado within the next few years and if at all possible make the professional ranks.

Some other goals for the year are to get my sons really involved in the racing as well. As of now they are a little bit nervous about racing as they have only recently taking a real interest in riding.
