Personal History
Hi there,
My names Steven Riddock I'm 26yrs old and I currently live in Weston NSW Australia.
I've been riding since I was 18 and joined the Army in 2005 as a Truck Driver. I was in the Army or 5yrs posted to Darwin then discharged and moved back home in 2009.
I started riding on a 05 KTM 250exc but soon got used to it and upgraded to a brand new 06 KTM 250sx. I mainly rode trails with the boys in Dawin but went out to the local track when ever I could. Once I came home I switched bikes for an 04 Yamaha YZ250f and started riding with all my old friends back home still riding local trails ad going out to Louee motocross park.
It was 2010 where I bought my current bike an 2011 Suzuki RMZ250 and been loving the new machine every since. My riding instantly got better aboard the yellow stallion and as I've always had a passion for racing I decided once I turned 25 that I was going to give it a go and since then never looked back.
Before I got into things I went and did some coaching with retired Pro Lites rider Luke George to improve my bikes skills before I jumped straight into racing, which Luke said was a smart decisions on my behalf. After a couple of sessions at Lukes I was feeling a lot more confident with my riding and come the start of the 2012 season I felt ready to go.
I decided as it was my first year I'd try out all 3 local tracks being Cessnock,Maitland and Lake Maquaire that way I have more track choice plus would better my riding racing the different tracks as each one is very different in dirt mixture, terrain and layout. I contined training with Luke George right through the 2012 season and has mad a massive difference to my riding, Luke has even told me from the rider I was when I first rocked up to the rider I am today I'm become a completely different rider I'm faster, more aggresive, smarter, more relaxed, improved my style and technic and just have all round improved myself as a better rider and it's starting to show on the track.
Nothing makes me happier then the feeling of being out there on the track racing, the adrenaline, the speed, the battles, the flights through the air,the gate starts,it's the only time I feel free and when that gate drops it's on haha and now that I've got my riding to a good standard things are looking up for 2013 and I can't wait for that first gate to drop and getting the party started.
See you guys on the track.
Riding Goals
My goals for the 2013 season are to just ride as much as I can and have as much fun as I can because if your not having fun then you shouldn't be riding.
I'll continue to race at Cessnock and Maitland tracks as they are my locals and I really enjoy racing there but I may drop Lake Maquire to race else where as I would like to do the whole Central West series and what rounds I can of he MX Nationals.
I'd also like to do the Arenacrosses if they run again with the supercross in 2013.
Competitive Highlights
4th overall at the Quirindi round of the Central West series 2012.
3rd overall for the year at Cessnock track 2012.
Top 5 for the year at Maitland track 2012.
