Personal History
Here are the basics. My name is Stephen Simmoneau (Sim-a-no) and I am a 24 year old motocross racer from Springfield, MO. I have been racing motorcycles for 15 years and can not imagine my life without motocross. I am an Expert or A class racer and I enjoy doing many other athletic activities and sports. I have two younger brothers one of which is A level motocrosser both are hearing impaired. They have been since birth. I grew up around American Sign Language but my sign skills are sloppy.
Riding Goals
I am currently obtaining my Pro/Am points in order to gain my professional license. I will be competing in multiple Outdoor Nationals during the 2012 race season. I will spend the winter months training and preparing in southern Texas and Florida. My goals during the 2012 season are to qualify for the main events and work my way into points paying positions during the Outdoor Nationals to gain much needed experience.
Competitive Highlights
Winning motos at the Branson Nationals as an 80cc pilot is probably one of the my first big moments to memory but I have won four Missouri State Championships and multiple top five finishes at Branson Amateur Nationals. In 2005 I suffered a serious spinal injury during a Loretta Lynn's regional that took more than a year to recover from. After that I spent several years regaining not only my skills but my financial security. After returning to motocross I think events take on a different personal meaning.
