Personal History
My name is Stephanie Atkinson, from Peterborough Ontario. I'm the only rider in my family, but they are huge supporters of the sport. 2015 will be my third year owning a dirtbike. I started with a crf150f moving to a crf150r and then now to a 250f. Any free time I have is usually spent on my bike. I work full time but still find myself on a track regularly, I just love it. My boyfriend and I both ride, giving each other motivation. Aside from riding I spend some time training in the gym. Focusing on workouts and circuits related to motocross and working on endurance to keep consistent during races.
Riding Goals
I ride because I love it. Its fun, competitive and unique. Everyone has their own talents on a bike and unique style, I'm still striving to get my own. My biggest goal is to get faster and smoother. Working on my corners has been my main focus, I believe that can be what separates me from the pack and will help me make easier passes during a race. My throttle control has gotten better but I'm always working on that, striving to be better. And lastly jumping; rolling jumps results in lost time in a race, a big goal of mine is learning the skill of which speed to go and how to keep that consistent each lap. Less casing jumps and less time going long will certainly help overall. I have a lot to work on, but I love seeing my personal improvements every ride.
Competitive Highlights
2015 isn't my first year with a dirtbike but this has been my first year racing. Racing has been my biggest accomplishment when it comes to improving. The confidence to line up with other riders and challenge myself on the track has been a huge personal accomplishment. I found myself at big races this year to kick off my racing career which was very scary, but it has significantly helped me when I race locally, with my confidence.
