Personal History

My name is Shawn Dunne. I got my first dirt bike when I was 10 years old and I have never looked back. I began racing in AZ where in the course of 4 years I went from 125/250 beginner to 125/250 intermediate. I was on track to hit my goal of turning pro when injuries and family issues got in the way. I did continue to ride, but the goal of turning pro quickly diminished due to finances.

I am now married with 2 children and one on the way. My kids are growing up around motocross and my goal is to lead by example and race with them at all of the events. I have a very secure career, and I intend to give my children every opportunity they will need to reach their goals of being a pro one day.

The sport of motocross has impacted my life tremendously and I am at the point where I am wanting to share those experiences with my family.

Riding Goals

My goal for 2015 is to race as many races as possible in various Florida series. This will allow me to get back up to speed after my long hiatus away from racing. As long as I stay on my current training program and continue progressing to get back to racing condition, I plan on qualiying and racing the 35+ class at Loretta Lynn's in 2016. I know that with having been out of racing for some time I will undoubtedly face set backs and obstacles as I reenter the sport, so I feel Lorretta Lynn's by 2016 is an achievable goal.

In order to prepare I will be entering the Florida MX Series, Florida Gold Cup, and hopefully the Winter Mini O's in 2015. For 2015 my goal is to finish in the top 5% of the 35+ and/or Vet classes.
