Personal History
I first began riding age 6 on a PW50 as many do. I’ve loved it since day one and have never turned my back on the sport even when the people around me told me I should. I love the freedom that comes with riding and racing. The only time I feel like I can be myself is on the bike!
When I was younger, I didn’t take the sport so seriously. But as soon as I started working and paying to race myself, I realised the sport cost far too much to not give it my everything. So I began training in the gym most nights and riding as often as possible. Instant improvements.
One issue I have constantly faced throughout my life is I was born with a cleft lip and palette. Nothing major, doesn’t affect my abilities on the bike. The problem I have is that since day one, I have been in and out of hospital, having correctional surgery. So in the last few years I have struggled to find bike time. But I’m not a quitter. I’m still fighting to get to where I want to be and I feel like 2016 will be my year. And this fighting spirit and refusal to give up is why I think I would be a great representation of your company.
Riding Goals
The plan for 2016 is to race the Western Australian Motocross State titles. I am only a clubman level rider but plan to tackle the Intermediate class as I feel I have the pace to run with the faster boys and establish myself as a rider to watch in the future. Also this year our state will hold a round of the Australian MX Nationals, so I plan to compete in that. Maybe in a support class, maybe in the Pro Lites.
Also I will compete in a club series and take part in all the major open events including the Manjimup 15000 International.
