Personal History
My names Shannon, I'm 18 and just finished my first year at Northern Arizona University. I began riding when I was 12 years old at Mohave Desert "Jaw Bone", when I immediately fell in love with the sport. I worked for 3 years in order to purchase my first bike and at the age of 15 I was able to purchase a 2014 Honda CRF 250L, which I've loved ever since. I worked for 2 more years in order to afford a 2003 YZ 125 which I raced briefly in 2016 and placed 10th and 12th in women's beginners TWMX at Cahuilla. June 19th 2017 I purchased a 2015 Honda crf 250r with 2016 air forks. I raced the TWMX Tera firma series this year and placed 2nd and 3rd each race with the finishing race at milestone coming up on the 10th. Motocross is my passion, and everything I do is in order to further my motocross career. Ive had some shortcomings which has stunted my growth as a rider. My mother passed away in 2014 sadly to hereditary hemochromatosis, which made our family's income drop immensely. Thereafter almost any money I made went to school and supporting my family which prevented me from being able to upgrade a bike or practice at the track. I have been working incredibly hard towards finding rides to the track but always drawn back due to financial issues. I have learned how to work on a bike on my own and work incredibly hard at improving myself in the sport. Any sponsorship or assistance in my passion would help me show what I am capable of and the dedication I hold for the sport. My dream is to show society the power and potential women hold in the sport and break the stereotypes of gender.
