Background:
I have been throwing a leg over a bike for about as long as I can remember. It all started on a 1980 KX 80 cc (2-stroke) when I was 8 years old in rural Nevada. What started out as a family activity soon became an obsession as I began to pit myself against my friends in the desert and woods around where I grew up. By 10 years old I was aboard a YZ 125, and needed a rock or milk crate or something to stand on while I kicked it over. I loved riding in the desert and woods, and really didn’t get into Motocross until I was around 16 or so. The nearest track was about 90 miles away. I was one of those farm boys that would borrow the boss’s equipment and make some pretty wicked tracks of our own. I participated in hare scrambles and some motocross events aboard a YZ 250, and KTM 380 respectively in high school and shortly after. 6 months after I bought my 2005 YZ 250, when I was 20, I hung up my riding helmet, and joined the Marines. I was stationed in Hawaii, and being in the infantry, I didn’t have too much time for riding. My last year I was in, after scoping out the local tracks and figuring out I could ride the heck out of the military reserve lands up in the jungle at North Shore. I am a founding member of BMG Racing, so named for our preferred rides (Yamaha). It is also a race team we are have put together (Steven Traughber, Thomas Sanders & I). We started going down and racing on Saturdays at Speed World near Phoenix. We quickly realized that it was usually a race between us three as we shot away from the competition. The last few years have just been riding hard for fun, am going to change the focus to fun and bragging rights through competition.
My current local track is Nomads MX park in Sierra Vista, AZ
I have begun focusing on enduro and technical riding.
