Personal History
Resume:
Hello, my name is Sean Baxley and I live in Westminster Maryland, but currently I am located at Chesterfield South Carolina to train at Club-MX over the winter. I am 14 years old and I am currently home-schooled.
I absolutely love the sport of Motocross. 2007 was my first year competing in the sport. I rode in the Mason Dixon Riders Associate Series (MDRA) in the 65 class 9-11C and placed 1st in class. I also rode in the 85 class 9-11C and tied for 3rd, but received 4th in class. I also received a special award for track points at Happy Ramblers.
In 2008 I continued to compete in the MDRA Series in the 85 class 12-15C where I won first in class. I think I have done very well considering I did not get points for two of the twelve races. Also in 2008 I attended Motorama in PA and received 2nd and 3rd place. I received 4th overall in Arena Cross in Baltimore. I tried out for Loretta Lynn’s at the first area qualifier at Budds Creek and earned 3rd in the 85 cc 7-11 stock class. I did not attend the regional qualifiers as my family and I thought I was not quite ready. I have participated in several training classes at Doublin Gap with Jeff Yenzer, attended the Tony D Training School and trained at Millsaps Training Facility in late November, and I am currently enrolled in Club-MX.
In 2009 my family was hit particularly hard with the economy. Unfortunately we were unable to attend most events and could no longer afford our camper due to my parents’ finances.
I did attend three races in 2009. The first race on the big bikes I entered 4 stoke open and placed 9th. I also raced 250C open and placed 3rd. My second race I entered 250 Open and placed first. My third race in 250C - placed 1st, 250 Open - placed 2nd, and Collegeboy - placed eighth.
In 2010, I had made my full season dubeau. That year I was determined to qualify for Loretta Lynn's. At the area qualifiers I had some top three finishes in 250 C mod and 450 C, although in the 250 C stock I ran into bad luck at almost every race, it came down to the last qualifier. It was first moto and I got stuck in the gate, I worked my way up to 4th, in the second moto I got the holeshot and in the second turn someone’s throttle stuck and they t-boned me. Then I got ran over and drug by my chest protector at least 30 ft, when I got back up I was on the gas, I worked my way up to 7th. My overall was a 5th I was so relieved that I made it to the regional.
At the regional I was so pumped I won all three motos in 450 on a 250, and in mod I wheeled off the start and was last and worked my way up to second, then in motos 2 and 3 I just checked out! Then in stock I went 1-12-6 and I was happy I made it in 450 and the 250 mod, I could only do 2 classes anyway.
During Loretta’s I was so nervous in practice I was riding so tight, but later when that gate dropped I was ready, in the 450 I was in 4th and I fell in a turn and as soon as I took off a kid fell right in front of me, I ran him right over. In the first moto I got 10th then in the 2nd and 3rd moto I had decent starts considering I was on a 250 in the 450 class and in both motos I got 2nd. I did horrible in mod I had last gate pick and was caught up in a pile up in the first moto and, well, that class just went downhill. But on the brightside I took the overall in the 450 class and was crowned 2010 Loretta Lynn National Champion! I was so excited especially it being my first year and I am only 14 and also being on a 250 in the 450 class!!! Another gig accomplishment this season was becoming 2010 happy ramblers 250c track champion, another championship I won was the MDRA series. I placed 1st in 250c and open c also I placed 2nd in four-stroke open.
I have also participated in a few hare scrambles and have placed top 5. My parents thought this would be good endurance training.
My family and I are members of Happy Ramblers Motocross Track in PA. My Dad volunteers at every race. Motocross has become part of my entire family's everyday life. We enjoy the sport and look forward to seeing everyone at the track. In the past few years, we have become very close with a large number of people and can share something that is important to every one of us, Motocross.
My goals for next year are to place top 5 at Loretta Lynn’s next year and just win MDRA again! I am currently enrolled in club mx till the end of February; the trainers are Zach Osborne and Brandon Haas. I am learning so much and getting faster and smoother day by day!
I try to be professional at all times. We keep our camping area clean, bikes are washed after every ride and I wear clean gear for every race. After returning from each motocross event, we have my bikes checked to make sure they are in the best condition they can be. When I am not racing in my moto, I am at the lines cheering everyone else on. I truly love this sport!
I would love for you to sponsor me because I would represent your company with a clean, well maintained bike, clean gear, and professional attitude. If I wanted to be remembered for anything it would be my good attitude and always giving 100%. I will uphold this sponsorship with the utmost respect and will help promote your company in any way. I could advertise on my bike, gear, helmet, flags or banners at our camp/pit site, my local track and even my own track, or on the side of our huge truck, box truck, van, pickup truck, and all of our cars.
Thank you for your time and consideration! If my resume is of any interest, please contact me at mlbaxley@yahoo.com ;
Thanks once again ~Sean Baxley
