Personal History

Scotty Middleton, 9 years old, born in Fairbanks, Alaska. He joined the motocross family for his first season (2019). He hadn't considered riding motocross until some of his school friends told him about their summer adventures on the motocross track. His father also shared his experiences on the track when he was a teenager and expressed his passion for the sport, this was the seed that got Scotty interested in the sport today. With his commitment to ride, he got his first 2017 KTM dirt bike this summer and began to ride. His passion for motocross continues to grow each day.

Being a resident Alaskan, from the start Scotty has grown to love the world of power sports and the great outdoors! Riding snowmachines to our family cabin on the Salcha River 9 months out of the year and riding dirt bikes and four wheelers in summer from an early age. When he isn't burning gas, he rides his bicycle at the track and with friends and on trails in the woods.  He is an active volunteer and member of the Fairbanks Racing Lions, he helps volunteer to clean the track grounds, cutting brush & picking up trash. Additionally, Scotty excels academically in school (even though he grumbles about homework) he is a good student. If you ask his friends and neighbors, they would say he is a kind-spirited, bright young man!

When Scotty isn't working in the garage with his dad on his dirt bike, or at the track, he can be found teaching his two year old brother Sage how to balance on two wheels so he can follow in his footsteps to ride dirt bikes and snowmachines one day!

Riding Goals

If you were to ask Scotty what his riding goals would be, he would say " to have fun!". As his parent, I know he is capable of winning, but I would like to see him engage in as much training every chance he can. I would like to see him consistently practice the "attack position" standing up and squeezing his bike with is knees. At the end of the day, creating good habits that become second nature I think will help him be able to grow to the next level. To learn while having fun is important for future growth. He is not afraid to try new techniques and feel what it's like to fail, get up and do it again!

Competitive Highlights

Being 9 years old, strong and nimble (4'5" and 75 lbs), he consistently works at improving his cornering technique and passing opportunity. His competitive highlight would be his determination, mental toughness. He has the ability to overcome any obstacle no matter how hard it is and work through it,...he proves this on the track each practice and on race day. Charging corners and picking fast lines is just one of the many aspects he focuses on during his time on the track.

He finished 2019 10th overall in the state race series in  65 Novice class, 2nd overall in the city series. Through these experiences, he's improved his speed and manueveribility through hard work at practice and on race day. Though he is new to motocross life , he's passionate to learning more about the sport and gaining valuable skills he can apply on the track to be consistent in his approach to crossing the finish line! His love for this sport is what is important for his ability to grow and make strides in the motocross sport.

Lastly, his track etiquette and ability to pick good lines are some other competitive skills he holds.
