This includes the 34th Answer MSR Pro Taper GNC International MX Final at Oak Hill March 15-20 where Scott had his first taste of National dust. It also includes the FMF North Texas Night Series in which he finished 3rd overall in the 7-11 85cc class and 6th overall in the 9-15 Supermini class. The day after the last race of the series he finished 2nd overall in the 85cc 7-11 class and 4th overall in the Jr. Supermini class at the AMA Amateur Day & Pro/AM held the sixth of June at Freestone County Raceway. After qualifying with a 5th place at the Texas regional for Loretta Lynn’s for the first time, he was denied his dream of attending because he broke his foot during the Ponca City Grand National Motocross Championship. He was the Texas Region points leader for the Ponca Qualifiers in which he took home two 1sts, four 2nds, one 3rd  and a 4th place trophy. He was in a cast then orthopedic boot for eight weeks. The weekend the boot came off, Scott raced at Cycle Ranch near San Antonio taking 1st in the 85cc 7-11 class and 2nd in the Supermini. The next weekend he was ready to test his endurance and rode a total of ten motos at The Texas Pro Challenge at Swan. He received two 1st and three 2nd place trophies. This race convinced him that he was up to the challenge and Scott headed to the Branson National Motocross Championship in Missouri. He finished 13th on his stock KX 85 and 7th on his modified. He finished out the racing season with the two 6ths at the Texas State Championship in November and two 2nds at the Allstar Amateur Event in December which were both held at the Freestone County Raceway.
