Rider Updates

Mar 5 2016

It's been awhile since the last update. After the AMA D36 season in 2015 I was involved in a motor vehicle accident on my motorcycle. I have since been healing from a severe concussion and a herniated disc between my L4 and L5 vertebrae. It looks like I will be able to race some local races at the end of this year and can return to AMA racing in 2017.

What an amazing end to the AMA District 36 Spring Hare Scramble Series. This weekend we had the final round of our spring the Shasta Dam GP. This race also doubles as Round 4 in the AMA West Hare Scrambles series.

I have been working on my starts all season and it finally paid off. I took 3rd off the line and into the first corner. By the time we made a few turns I was able to move to 2nd and hold that for about 10 miles. Around mile 10 the leader made a mistake and I was able to slip past. I knew she would be on me fast so I put the hammer down. Looking at timing for the first lap I put up a 10minute gap between myself and 2nd!

I was able to hold the lead for the rest of the race and brought home the #1 plate! I wrapped up 1st place in the D36 series for spring and I am currently 1st overall in C women for the AMA West series.

I can't thank my sponsors enough for all the help! Decal Works, Works Connection, Braking, ASV, ODI, Twin Air, Motool, Ogio, Gaerne, Matrix Concepts, Ryno Power, and Answer Racing!

Last weekend marks the 14th and last round of the AMA District 36 Championship Hare Scrambles Series. I managed to wrap up 3rd place for the spring series earlier this year. Now I've grabbed 2nd place for the fall series!

I had an amazing time this year. This was the first full race season I have been able to participate in and I had the most amazing time. I met great people. I had some great battles. I can not wait for next season to start in January!

I would like to thank all my sponsors. Without you I could not have made this happen!

Airoh Helmets, Speed Mob, Gaerne, Race Tech, Matrix Concepts, 1.7, Ryno Power, Twin Air, ASV, Decal Works, and Leatt.

I can not thank you all enough for your support! THANK YOU!!

Here in AMA District 36 we have our cross country season split into a "Spring" series and a "Fall" series.  Results for the spring series are in and I have wrapped up 3rd place! What a great finish to my first season of racing. I'm really working hard this summer to carry that momentum into the next half of the season. Our Enduro series is not split into 2 season and is on break right now for the summer. I am currently holding 2nd place in "C Women" for the youth Enduro series. I hope to be able to race in this series when the cross country schedule permits. It was really exciting to get a copy of the District 36 newsletter to see my name highlighted in 2nd place for the series!

Last weekend I attended an off-road training school in Clear Lake Oaks, CA by Garrahan Offroad Training. We spent 2 days going over the basics in various terrain and then going over those skills in real riding conditions on the trails. These training sessions have been so valuable to my riding. Every time I attend a clinic I get faster and safer ever time I hit the trails. Next Sunday GOT is offering an Into To Racing clinic at Hollister Hills GP Track. I will definitely be attending this session too! Check out my pictures for some images of last weekends training session!

I had a great weekend of recreational riding with my friends! It was a wonderful break from racing and I got a few days to work on line choice, passing, and technical woods riding. Today it's back to routine to continue prepping for the Hollister Hills 6 Hour Race in June. I've increased the amount of time I put in at the gym and I am really working hard on my nutrition with help from Ryno Power! I can't wait to get out to the trails this weekend to work on better line choices and race starts.

Yesterday I competed in the AMA West / District 36 Shasta GP at Shasta-Chappie OHV Park in Shasta, CA. The course was a long one estimated at about 23 miles for our race. Average time of about an hour for our group which meant it was very unlikely you would get a 2nd lap in in the 90 minute time period for C Class races.

There was a serious bottle neck hill climb on the course which caused a lot of issues. Once cleared of that problem it was smooth sailing all the way to the finish! I ran across a complete burnt out 2 stroke motorcycle about 10 miles into the course. Rider escaped without serious injury and no forest fires were started. All in all it was an amazing course and when it was all said and done I placed 3rd in my district's class (C Vet Women) and 4th in the AMA West Hare Scramble Series (C Women).

I can not wait to go to this event again next year!

Went down to Metcalf Motorcycle Park in San Jose, CA to do an hour test run after replacing the piston rings. Spent some time practicing sliding and high speed flat turns today too. Can't wait for the AMA District 36 Shasta Dam GP tomorrow!

Spent some time this morning on the motocross track at Carnegie SVRA. I have really been losing a lot of time on the motocross track portion of races so it's time I make some serious effort to gain some much needed confidence to improve my times on the track portions of races.
