Personal History
My name is Sam Carroll and just turned 16 in February 2, 2012. I'm an honor roll student and do well in school and in the 11th grade. I've been riding since I was about 8 years old and my dad has been riding his whole life and he is a great teacher to me because he helps me with my riding. We race every weekend and probably ride 8 times out of the month. My dad and I have a great passion for the sport and love it. I tell myself everytime I'm about to race that no matter what happens or what place I get to just have fun and do my best. I have started lifting weights and riding my mountain bike alot during the week to get in shape for this season. I'm getting better and better every weekend and still am. I have a great family that supports me in everything I do and their always there at the races with me. I love this sport.
Riding Goals
My goals are to improve every time I ride and race, and do so in a specific and effective way. Every time I ride I focus on one or two things that will help me improve my results and overall make me a better rider. For example, I practice starts and only starts in my yard about twice a week. Other times I will just spend ours doing figure eights improving my corner speed. My dad was an amateur rider who competed in national events and he gives me lots of pointers that greatly improve my riding. Since I have started racing I have made goals to listen to what he says on the track and focus on those specific words. When I do this I limit the mistakes I make, so one of my goals is to listen to those who are better than me and improve through those words.
