Personal History
Hi, my name is Ryker Weinkauf and I am 6 years old. My favorite thing to do is be outside, whether it is riding my pedal bike, dirt bike or snowmobile, climbing, jumping, using my imagination and being a wild boy. I love to ride my pedal bike and jump with it. My mom and dad are going to tell you how I got into my favorite sport, dirt biking.
Ryker got his first dirt bike in 2018 at age 4. He always asked for one but our rule was, "Until you can ride your pedal bike without training wheels, you don't get a dirt bike." Well the training wheels came off with no hesitations and a week later he was on his PW. Lots of hours were spent at the local track for the remainder of summer and in August he entered his first race, from there he was hooked even though mom was a bit hesitant!
In the spring of 2019, he upgraded to a KTM 50 mini, as he far out grew the PW50 suspension and top end! This last year consisted of racing in the Midwest Amateur Mx series, 50B class with a 3rd overall finish , and a July Mini Moto series every Wednesday night, with a 5th overall finish. In August he once again upgraded, this time to a KTM 50 SX Senior and finished off his race year on it. He was determined to ride that bike well even tippy toeing it at the starting gate and he did. This kid never stops and the smile under his helmet is always huge.
Lots of evenings and weekends spring through fall are spent at our local track, improving, racing with friends, chasing his dad, and making sure he is always ahead of his big sister and determined to do his next best. All in all, always having fun. Each lap gets quicker and each jump gets further.
Ryker has shown a huge passion, and desire for motocross. We as parents enjoy how much concentration, determination and success he has had in his beginning years. He never lets a bad start or wipe out stop him from continuing. After a full year of racing under his wing he wanted more, more races, more competition, more push and more time on his seat and will be racing in the 2020 Triple Crown AX in Calgary AB this May and doing a provincial series (ADRA) that will take us further from home. For 2020 he will be racing in the 50cc 7-8 class in the ADRA and when he is not doing this series, he will be racing in the Midwest Amateur MX Series in the 50A Class.
Riding Goals
My goal is to get better at going fast on the whoops and jumping higher.
Finish in the top 6 in the Triple Crown AX in Calgary .
Finish in the top 4 in the ADRA 50cc 7-8
Work with a trainer to get better in the rhythm sections of the track, and work on body position while jumping and corners.
Competitive Highlights
Having a few poor starts, and being last out of the gates, but battling to re gain a spot in the top 3!
