Personal History

My parents gave me my first motorcycle at the age of 5, in fact I learned to ride the Suzuki 50 before learning to ride a bicycle.  Was raised riding in the woods with my dad, brother, and friends, but never rode on a motocross track until my junior year at high-school.  Began racing a KDX-200 at the age of 15, and have been competing ever since.

In 1997, after injuring my shoulder racing the TRASK 2-Day national ISDE qualifier (on Gold, top-5 in LOI 250+ class), I began college.  In 2001 I graduated Oregon Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Vascular Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonography, and have been working in the medical profession ever since.

My father started a local suspension service in 2000 named Suspension By Design, out of Newberg, OR.  He specializes in KTM suspension, offroad, and lowering.  As his chief test rider, I provide input for expert level offroad riding, as well as junior/intermediate level out-door motocross.  This role also gives me the opportunity to meet and interact with many of his clients, both at the shop and at the races, where I provide suspension set-up advice, and riding technique input.

My local church, Athey Creek Christian Fellowship, located in Wilsonville, OR has several dozen motorcycle enthusiasts.  Several pastors, elders, and members meet in Sandy, OR at the Mountain View Motocross Part for Tuesday public practice, and then host a bible-study afterwards.  This has provided a great opportunity for me to help share my expertise in mechanical, suspension set-up, and riding technique

Riding Goals

My goals is to race as fast as I safely can, to enjoy every opportunity, to encourage others, and to be good influence.

My fitness has drastically improved in 2014, losing 70+pounds since the 1st of January 2014, and now running sub 8-minute miles for 1-hour, several times a week.  This change has allowed my to win the 2014 OMRA open-expert cross-country championship, with several top-3 overall finishes.  I expect to be bumped up to the AA class for 2015.

For 2015, I also plan on racing motocross in the Junior class, with anticipation of bumping up to the vet-intermediate class quickly.
