Personal History
I am from Forest City, NC and currently reside in Dillwyn, VA with my fiancé & our 3 dogs. I am a foreman for a public utility contractor building power lines across VA & adjoining states. I began racing at the age of 9 in BMX and by 13 was sponsored by Pistol Pete racing in the expert classes. I continued racing BMX until the age of 19 when I began an interest in the field of motocross. The rest is history.....I worked a fulltime job, attended college, and began racing motocross as much as time & money permitted. I started in C class, mid season I progressed to B class obtaining a sponsorship from Barr's Competition Shelby, NC. Upon advancing to A class I received a sponsorship form Shelby Motor Sports/Yamaha. During this time I captured various Outlaw wins, District Championships, & qualified yearly for Loretta Lynn's Amateur National. Was only able to make the LL National trip one year due to funding & obligations. I continued my racing & the love for the sport until 1995 when I semi-retired due to my work schedule & obligations. At 40 my racing desire was rekindled when my career relocated me to an area where I met several Vet riders and have convenient access to numerous track locations.
Riding Goals
I am hoping for the ability to travel & experience as many track locations as possible, while capturing some local championships and finally having the opportunity to compete at Loretta Lynn's National.
Competitive Highlights
Definitely the highlights from my racing are being able to meet, enjoy, & share the love of the sport with so many wonderful people! Damon Bradshaw, Kevin Walker, Mike Brown, & Mitchell Hodges are just to name a few. I am blessed & grateful to have made some of the best friendships through motocross. No matter where you go, the motocross family is truly a superb & amazing group of people.
