Personal History
My son (4) and I both race Great Plains Cross Country. Currently my son races in the PeeWee bike and PeeWee quad classes. He also races in the Staycyc/E-bike class on his PurSpeed. He currently holds 2nd overall for quad and 3rd overall for bike in the 50cc classes. Considering he is 4, in his 1st full year of racing and racing against kids up to 8 years old, I think he has the talent to be very competitive as he gets older. I currently race Sprint Class and hold 2nd place overall in points in my class (Decades). I've only raced one long course race but pulled out a 2nd in that race as well. We race every race with a large group of friends and enjoy raising my kids at the races. We also race OCCRA (Oklahoma Cross Country) but have committed to GPXC so not going to hit all the OCCRA races. We currently have AOT and John Bradley Customs sponsorships but looking at something for goggles etc.
Riding Goals
I wasn’t able financially to grow up riding. Wasn’t until I was in my early 20s that I got into it. Fast forward to my 30s and 40s and I want my kids growing up doing some of the things I missed out on. The camaraderie in the racing community is amazing. I prefer my kids growing up outdoors having fun than to be behind a screen all the time. My son started racing last season at the age of 3 and he’s hooked. So much that we bought a toy hauler so we don’t miss any races, despite the weather.
Competitive Highlights
I am new to racing but have ridden on two wheels for the last 20+ years. I’ve got two 1sts and two 2nds in the last 4 races and currently hold 2nd place overall in the Decades class.
