Personal History
My name is Ryan Burns. I am 8 years old. I go by Ry Ry. I really love sports and life in general. School is fun but I love my weekends with my family the most. My passion is motocross. My dad helped me get started at age 3 on an old 1996 jr 50. I went through the Race 50 phase on a ktm pro sr, now I am rippin on a KTM 65sx. I dont think there is anything more I like in the world over motocross, although lacrosse is quickly becoming my 2nd favorite thing to do.
Currently I am riding in the Valley Dirt Rider Hairscramble series in Berthoud, Colorado. I got 1st place last year and 3rd in 65cc.
My parents are teaching me to push myself and not be as shy while having as much fun as I can while I can!
My whole family rides, even my mom. she rips on a kx100 big wheel. life is good!
Riding Goals
I have ridden since I was 3. No that Im on a "real" bike (my dad says), Every day I get faster and faster. I really want to perfect the clutch and gears. i have been riding 65cc class in RMXA trying to get used to the bigger bike (I can barely touch). I plan on taking riding lessons this year to step up my game.
Would really like to be as good at Ryan Dungey someday!
Competitive Highlights
Well, Im only barely 8 but feel like I have come a long way. My good friends, the Ogden's, and I have formed the "OGBURN" racing team. Owen is 10 and has pushed me to be a better rider....man he is hard to keep up with!
At age 6-7, I got 2nd place in the Valley Dirt Riders Hair Scramble series. About 15 total riders.
Also last year at Age 7 I got first place in the Denver Arena Cross out of 11 total riders. Hole shot! This year at the Arena cross I had to step up and finished about mid pack. It was a lot of fun for sure.
This year I won the 50cc class at the VDR MX hair scramble series.
65cc is slow start, but I am getting faster. 3rd in hair scrambles last year and I finish about mid pack in RMXA.
Im currently taking Mx Lessons with the OGBURN racing team crew from a local pro. my lap times have gotten much better!
