Personal History

Old guy rider who started riding in 2014 when son wanted a bike.  Since then I'm currently logging over 200 hours a year between singletrack, enduros, turkey runs, and Trials.  Have a group of over 50 old guys on whattsapp, and we ride/race every weekend and get together socially as well.  We all try to be good ambassadors to the sport by raising awareness, organizing trails clearing days, working with local clubs, doing beginner ride days to get people hooked etc.  We also do lots of group buys since we burn through a lot of equipment in a year!

Started Trials riding last year and now 4 of my buddies have trials bikes and we go out regularly on those as well.  Fantastic cross training and skills building that directly translates to the enduro bikes.

Recently went on a hard enduro tour in Romania and have gotten hooked on that as well with another trip planned this year.  Great way to meet new people, ride challenging terrain, and learn by drinking from a firehose!

Just went on a week vacation to Hatfield-McCoy with a group of 40 local riders/racers that made the 12 hour drive since no local events are going on.  Will be an annual event now since we had a great time!

Riding Goals

Continue to improve skills and speed until I'm 80!  Ride in new places every year.  Continue to meet interesting people and from new friendships.

Competitive Highlights

Mostly Enduros.  The tougher the better as I enjoy the technical stuff more than just twisting the throttle.

Started competing in Trials this year and looking to move up to Novice A next year and then hopefully to advanced lines soon.
