Personal History

I am 36 years old, married, and the father of a baby girl. I have been riding motorcycles since I was 8 years old, though I have not been competing for quite as long.  I began racing when I was 18, since my parents forbid it until that time, and that continued until I was approximately 23.  I had a really bad crash at a race, and it set me back for a long while.  It was at that time I decided I needed to return to college to start a career.  I accomplished my goals of completing college, and finding that career, so I have returned to motocross over ten years later.  I have been back into the sport for a little over a year, and now truly know how important this sport is to me.

Riding Goals

My goals for the coming year.  I am lucky enough to have a job where I am off every other weekend, and each of those weekends, starting in March, I intend to be racing on Sunday.  My career also gives me time during the week to travel to practice tracks, so in the meantime, I will also practice on my off weeks.  I have plans to race the amateur day at at least one National, and I also intend to race a series promoted in District 6, the Mainline Series, which includes two tracks.  The other series I intend to race is the Mason Dixon Racing Association (MDRA6 and MDRA7).  Obviously, at my age, the goals of becoming a pro are a stretch.  What I find most enjoyable is competing against myself, seeing myself get faster, and hoping that guy that beat me last week doesn't do it again this week. By the end of 2011 I would like to see what my chances are of making the Expert Class, and what I will have to do to get there and complete a childhood dream that has been on hold for a long while.

Competitive Highlights

I started racing in September of 2009.  Since then, I have slowly gotten smarter, and faster.  I was able to finally win an overall in October, and surprisingly two additional races in a row after that.  I raced the Delaware State Championship and blew my clutch in the first turn, still able to get a 5th place in moto one without a clutch.  I then won moto two for a thrid overall.  It was at this time that I decided to self advance to the "B" amateur class.  Since then, I have had bad luck, but great races.  I'm overzealous, causing some falls, injuries, and subsequent poor finishes, but my lap times only put me a couple seconds behind the leaders so I expect great things in the future.
