Personal History

My name is Rodrigo Borges and I’m 17 years old and started riding when I
was 2 years and 7 months and haven’t looked back since. I’ve had a
passion for this sport for as long as I can remember and one day will make
it pro. I started racing locally when I was 5 years old and immediately fell
in love with racing. When I moved up to 65cc I went to my first big race,
Mammoth Motocross. I top tened all my classes (3), my best overall being Ogio 8th. After this I had to stop riding for a few years due to financial
problems. During this time I had lots of time to think about what I wanted to pursue. I raced some races over the years, but tried making a comeback in 2019. It wasn't successful as I was hurt most of the year, breaking my wrist in the beginning of the year and then tearing my ACL halfway through the year. I came into 2020 with a dierent mindset and had one goal, which was to improve every single time I rode. I went to the LLAQ and qualified for regionals and then ended up winning the regionals at Fox Raceway. I made it to Loretta Lynn's and had one of the best experiences in my life, even though the results didn’t show my abilities. I've learned a lot since then and am working everyday to improve myself.

Riding Goals

My goals and plans for the 2023 season include racing 250b and Schoolboy 2 at the spring nationals, Freestone and Spring a Ding Ding, Loretta Lynn's, Baja Brawl, Ponca, Maine Event 207 and Mini O's. My goals are to stay healthy throughout the entire season, ride the best of my abilities at all the races, improve every single time I get on the bike, be aggressive, win and take home some #1 plates.

Competitive Highlights

My name is Rodrigo Borges and I'm 17 years old. I train full time at Club Mx and race 250b and Schoolboy 2. This year (2022) I raced 250b Lmt and and 450b. I won most of my area qualifers and qualified to Loretta Lynns in these classes. In Loretta Lynns my results were (250b lmt, 450b/ 30-8-9= 14th OA, 18-14-11=12th OA). Lot leared from this and will finish a lot better in 2023. I also raced Mini O's, ( Mini O's Sx/ 250b, Schoolboy 2/ 9th OA, 11th OA). That was my last race on my ktm, as I plan to move to yamaha.
